Quilted Witch's Hat Class -- Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Class

Add a little handmade magic to your Halloween wardrobe! In this class, you'll sew your very own fabric witch hat—perfect for Halloween parties, handing out candy, or simply embracing spooky season.

Students can choose between two versions: a cozy quilted witch hat or a lined fabric witch hat. We'll walk through constructing and shaping your hat so you leave class with a one-of-a-kind accessory ready for its Halloween debut.

Important Note for the Quilted Version

If you plan to make the quilted version, your fabric must be quilted before you arrive for class. There will not be enough time during class to quilt your fabric and complete the hat.

You can use a small quilt you already have (a great way to repurpose an orphan quilt or practice piece!) or quilt approximately 3/4 yard of fabric ahead of time.

Supplies

Pattern will be provided in class. Students receive 10% off all supplies needed for class in our store. In addition to the supplies below, students should bring their own sewing tools & notions, such as scissors & pins. 

Quilted Version

• Small quilt or approximately 3/4 yard of pre-quilted fabric

• Bias tape

• Coordinating thread

Lined / Unquilted Version

• 3/4 yard exterior fabric

• 3/4 yard lining fabric

• 3/4 yard fusible fleece or Pellon 809 if you'd like a stiffer, more structured hat

• Bias tape

• Coordinating thread

Please arrive with your fabric washed and ready to sew. If making the quilted version, remember that all quilting must be completed before class
