Learn to Quilt Series (4 Weeks)
This class is designed for the sewist interested in making their first quilt. Class will cover: piecing together the quilt top, basting, quilting options, and how to install a binding. This session will focus on the classic Log Cabin Pattern. Students can choose to use the tradition pattern or the courthouse step variation to complete a throw sizes (64" x 64") quilt.
Skill level: Adult Beginner. Students should be comfortable on a sewing machine and be able to thread and wind a bobbin on their own.
What you'll need:

- 16-23 Fat Quarters or (18) 1/4 yard cuts, depending on if you want repeats of patterns or not.
- Coordinating thread for piecing and for quilting (instructor will discuss different thread types during class)
- Quilt Batting
- Basting (curved) safety pins
As part of our COVID protocol and trying to limit the use of shared tools, all students will be required to bring their own scissors, pins, marking pens, rotary cutter & mat (if using). Students are welcome to use our sewing machines & irons/ironing boards. If you'd like to bring your own machine, please let us know prior to class.
