Learn to Quilt Series (4 Weeks) --Simple Star

This class is designed for the sewist interested in making their first quilt. Class will cover: piecing together the quilt top, basting, quilting options, and how to install a binding. Students will use the Simple Star pattern by MSquared Patterns

Skill level: Adult Beginner. Students should be comfortable on a sewing machine and be able to thread and wind a bobbin on their own. Students will be expected to complete "homework" in between classes to make sure we stay on schedule. There will be a few breaks in the schedule to allow you to work on this at home. 

What you'll need:

All students receive a 10% discount on supplies for class.  

• Simple Star by Studio M Squared
• See photo for fabric requirements. We suggest making sure there is enough contrast between the star fabrics and the background fabric to ensure that the star stands out. 
• Coordinating thread for piecing and for quilting (instructor will discuss different thread types during class)
• Quilt Batting
• Basting (curved) safety pins
  

All students are required to bring their own scissors, pins, marking pens, rotary cutter & ruler. Students are welcome to use our sewing machines & irons/ironing boards. If you'd like to bring your own machine, please let us know prior to class.
