Beyond the Essential Tote -- Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Class

In this class, we'll explore how to take our Essential Tote Pattern and make it more customizable. Students will learn how to add two different types of pockets (a slip pocket and an inner zippered pocket) plus install a magnetic snap. 

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate -- must be able to thread machine & wind a bobbin independently.  Previous sewing experience required. 

What you'll need:

All supplies are available for purchase in store. Students receive a 10% discount on supplies. If purchasing online, use the code VIRTUALCLASS.

• 1/2 yard of fabric for exterior
• 1 yard of fabric for lining
• 1/2 yard of fusible fleece
• 1 yard of shape flex fusible interfacing
• 1.5 yards of cotton webbing for straps
• 1 magnetic snap
• 7" or longer plastic zipper
• Coordinating thread
• Washable marking pen or chalk
• Wonder tape (optional)
• Scissors, Pins, or your preferred tools.

Prepwork: In order to finish this tote during class time, you'll need to arrive with your fabric cut. Upon registration, you'll receive an email with the tote pattern and cutting instructions. You can either print the pattern at home or use our PDF printing service.

• Sewing machines will be provided, if needed. Please bring your own thread, pins, & scissors.
  
• If you plan on purchasing supplies at the store the day of the class, please plan on arriving 15-20 minutes prior to class.
