Learn to Quilt Series
This class is designed for the sewist interested in making their first quilt. Class will cover: piecing together the quilt top, basting, quilting options, and how to install a binding. Students will use the pattern Sidewalk Chalk by Then Came June and have the option to make a baby or throw sized quilt.
Skill level: Novice. Students should be comfortable on a sewing machine and be able to thread and wind a bobbin on their own.
What you'll need:

- Sidewalk Chalk Quilt Pattern by Then Came June
- Fabric for top, backing, and binding (see photo below for amounts)
- Coordinating thread for piecing and for quilting (instructor will discuss different thread types during class)
- Quilt Batting
- Basting (curved) safety pins
As part of our COVID protocol and trying to limit the use of shared tools, all students will be required to bring their own scissors, pins, marking pens, rotary cutter & mat (if using). Students are welcome to use our sewing machines & irons/ironing boards. If you'd like to bring your own machine, please let us know prior to class.

March 5th, 19th, April 2nd & 16th. Classes will be 2 hours long and include time for teacher demonstration, student sewing, discussion, and questions.
