Donny Shirt -- Intermediating Garment Making Class

Learn to make Friday Pattern Company's latest pattern -- The Donny Shirt. "The Donny Shirt is a boxy pull-on top that is designed to be a workhorse in your
wardrobe. It is a dartless top with a lapel collar and patch pocket. The Donny is a greateveryday top that can be worn with practically anything. Because of its boxy silhouette, the Donny is comfortable but still cool. Pair it with jeans or a skirt, layer it over or under a dress - the sky’s the limit!"

This class is appropriate for beginners -- those that are comfortable threading a machine, winding a bobbin, and know what seam allowances are.

Class will cover:

• How to properly take measurements and choose your size
• Reading a pattern and basic sewing terminology
• How to finish seam allowances and insert a neck facing

• Swedish Tracing Paper (optional)

• Light to medium weight fabric with good drape, such as brushed cotton, gauze, voile, lawn, flannel, chambray, linen, silk crepe, charmeuse, silk noil, rayon (see size chart)**
• Coordinating Thread

Details:

• If you'd like to get a head start, it is helpful to come to class with your fabric already cut out. If you need help with sizing or need help with cutting, you may do so during the first class.
• Sewing machines will be provided, if needed. Please bring your own thread, pins, scissors and marking pen/chalk.
