T-shirt Quilt Top Class
Do you have old t-shirts that you are having a hard time parting with? Learn how to turn them into a keepsake quilt that you'll cherish forever. During this two part class, students will make a quilt top* that will be ready to be machine quilted or hand-tied.
The first session will be devoted to cutting and interfacing the shirts and cutting fabric. The second will include adding borders to the blocks and assembling the quilt top.
What you'll need:
Students receive a 10% discount on any supplies for class. Please let the employee know at checkout that you're purchasing for class.
- Assorted t-shirts, writing or design should be no bigger than 12" (approximately 6-12, depending on what size you want to make your quilt)
- Stabilie-Tee or SF101 interfacing
- 1-2 yards of quilting cotton, if adding a border around blocks
- Rotary cutter, acrylic ruler*, & mat (we have some to borrow in the studio but not enough for every student)
- Coordinating thread
Please note that students will not complete a full quilt, only the quilt top. We will discuss finishing techniques during class.
