Sip & Sew -- Beeswax Wraps
Learn how to make Beeswax Wraps during a special edition of our popular Sip & Sew in honor of Earth Day. These no-sew wraps are great if you're looking for a way to reduce the use of plastic in your home and lesson your carbon footprint.
We will supply the tools & beeswax mixture for you to make approximately four wraps (between 8" and 11" squares).
What you'll need:
- Desired cotton fabric (1/4 yard will make approximately four 9" square wraps)*
*If you're concerned about chemicals from the fabrics, you may want to purchase your fabric ahead of time to wash prior to class.
Things can get messy, so make sure to wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty or bring an apron with you. Although there is no sewing involved, this class is aimed at adults, since we will be using irons and sticky things!
What are beeswax wraps?
Beeswax wraps are a natural eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil for wrapping food, bread, cheese, sandwiches and covering bowls and jars. Perfect for school lunch boxes and keeping snacks fresh when you're on the go. They keep food fresh, are naturally anti-bacterial, can be reused, refreshed and are compostable.
