Improvisational Quilting for the Timid
Consider this as a gateway class for those curious in improvisation. This class will introduce 3 techniques to ease you into making improvisational quilts. Though some of the methods are planned and rooted in traditional quilt patterns, we will cover techniques to help students achieve an improvisational look and become more comfortable with not know how the quilt will look from the start. You will be able to play with your components to create a unique layout for your composition. Note, finishing will not be covered in this class but your samples can be used to make quilts, pillow covers, table runners or anything else.
Supplies: Selection of at least 6 fat quarters that can be used to explore 3 different techniques. Consider solid fabrics and those that contrast to each other in color and value. Coordinating thread.
