Lone Stars Quilt Workshop with Sarah Bond
The Lone Star is one of the visually simplest and yet most stunning of traditional quilt patterns. The 8-pointed star is made up of smaller diamonds and creates a visual effect of color and pattern radiating from the center of the star out to its points. The Broken Star and Blazing Star are amped up versions of this classic pattern. Because of their many pieces, these patterns take some time to master. This class will provide hands-on practice with strip piecing the Lone Star and Broken Star. This is a class for intermediate quilters or advanced beginner quilters with a love of precision and craftsmanship. We will start with a small lone
star so that students can work through the basic construction techniques and learn tricks for checking and trimming their diamond pieces to ensure that their finished piece is symmetrical and lays flat when finished. Includes a table calculating quilt size by strip width and number of diamonds so you can design the diamond quilt that is right for you.
