Three Little Birds Sewing Co
Fit Workshop --- Intermediate/Advanced Garment Sewing
Fitting is often the trickiest and most frustrating part about garment sewing. We’ve designed this course for students who have previously sewn garments and are interested in taking their sewing to the next level by improving the fit of their garments. In this 6 hour workshop, students will work on the garment of their choice and should bring a completed muslin with them to class.
The first 60-90 minutes of class will be a group fitting session with the instructor. Students should be ready to try their garment on while the instructor walks the group through each person’s first round of adjustments. This is a great way for students to learn from each other’s fitting needs. The remainder of class will focus on students making these adjustments to their muslins, trying them on again, and transferring any successful changes to their pattern.
One change/alteration will be addressed at a time. Some students may be able to make one adjustment to get a better fit while others may need to make multiple adjustments. This will be determined by the complexity of your pattern as well as the skill level of the sewist. The goal is to help you find a better fit for your garment, not to complete the finished garment.
Class will break for 20-30 minutes for snack and sanity break.
