Longarm Quilting Services

Need help finishing up your quilt? We now provide edge-to-edge longarm quilting services! Our quilts are stitched on a Handi Quilter Amara 20 equipped with Pro-Stitcher. 

PREPARING YOUR QUILT

• Press the quilt top and backing.
• Quilt top, batting, and backing should not be basted together. We load them onto the frame separately. 
• Please trim all loose threads from the quilt top, on both sides. Dark threads will show through light colored fabrics if not trimmed prior to quilting.
• Backing must be at least 5″ larger than the quilt top on all sides. For example, if your quilt is 60” x 70”, your backing and batting should be 70” x 80”.  
• Backing must be 100% cotton. If you have a seam, please press the seam open.  
• If your quilt top and/or backing is directional, please mark the top with a note & safety pin. We will not be responsible for mistakes in directionality if your quilt is not marked. 
• For best results, the quilt top must be square and lay flat. If not, you may end up with puckers and an unsquared quilt.

BATTING

We stock large rolls of Hobbs Brand 80/20 Cotton batting* for your convenience, but you may supply your own. However, remember that your batting must be at least 4" bigger than your quilt top on all sides. 

*We can also order you any type of batting that you'd like, but we must know in advance to allow time to order it.

THREADS

We carry a variety of solid colored thread. We will select the best color thread to compliment your quilt top. If you have a specific color preference, we’ll do our best to accommodate. We generally use the Superior Threads Brand. 

We use the same color thread for both the top and backing unless specified

COST BREAKDOWN

There is a $75 minimum*. Additional cost of your quilt is determined by several factors. The longarm quilting fee is determined by the size of your quilt in square inches. An example is quilt top is 60" x 75" would be 4500 square inches. The cost of quilting for an edge to edge design is $.025 per sq inch x 4500 which comes to $112.50. Other costs would include batting, thread, etc.

Current turnaround is approximately 3 weeks. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup.

We're so excited to help you get your quilt finished! The easiest way to submit your quilt is to stop by the store. However, if you'd like to get in the queue ASAP, simply checkout on this page and we'll email you an order form and walk through the process with you.     

*We are happy to quilt smaller projects that would not add up to $75 with the quilting fee, but you will still be charged for the minimum.
